1. INTRODUCTION

Origin MML (“Origin”, “us”, or “we”) operates the UK’s cross-media audience measurement platform (the “Origin Platform”) that allows advertisers, agencies, intermediaries, advisors and other entities that have an agreement with Origin (“Marketers”) to request measurement for advertising campaigns across different media channels.

The Origin Platform is able to tell Marketers how many people and what size of audience saw a particular advertising campaign over various platforms, such as YouTube and Facebook as set out in Section Error! Reference source not found. (“Data Partners”) through aggregated and anonymised reports (“Measurement Reports”). Although the Measurement Reports produced by the Origin Platform are aggregated and anonymised, personal data is used to create these Measurement Reports.

Origin and Marketers are “joint controllers” in respect of personal data used to create these Measurement Reports. Our Data Partners may act either as (i) joint controllers with Marketers and Origin in respect of personal data used to create these Measurement Reports, or (ii) independent controllers in line with their applicable terms and conditions.

This privacy notice sets out the basis on which personal data collected from Data Partners is processed by the Origin Platform to create Measurement Reports. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding personal data and how it will be treated.

Data Partners will collect limited demographic data such as your age and gender as well as ad impression data about the advertising which you interact with on their websites or platforms (such as the number of times a Marketer’s ad was seen) which is used to create Measurement Reports.

Note that this is in addition and unrelated to any other personal data that our Data Partners process for their own purposes as per their privacy notices (e.g. when you create an account with them).

Your personal data is collected by our Data Partners who then pseudonymised and encrypt it. The personal information that we collect may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the EEA or the UK, including countries, which have less strict, or no data protection laws, when compared to those in the EEA or the UK. Whenever we transfer your information in this way, we will take steps which are reasonably necessary to ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information and to make sure it is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice. In these cases, we rely on approved data transfer mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses) to ensure your information is subject to adequate safeguards in the recipient country. If you are located in the UK or the EEA, you may contact us for a copy of the safeguards which we have put in place to protect your personal information and privacy rights in these circumstances.

8. HOW WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We take steps to ensure that the personal information that you provide is retained for only as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. After this period it will be deleted or anonymised. We only keep the pseudonymised, encrypted file sent to us by Data Partners for 7 days, after which it is deleted.

Where you withdraw your consent, this will be dealt with in line with the Data Partners’ privacy policy.

9. DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION

We may share your personal data (i.e. the pseudonymised, encrypted file sent to us by Data Partners) with our suppliers, business partners and service providers where they are helping us to operate the Origin Platform.

We may disclose your personal data to other third parties where we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation or request.
